Footprints for Peace (Australia), with the active support of the French network for nuclear phase-out, will walk from London to Geneva (April 26 - July 18) via France for a nuclear-free world.

It allows to notice once again that, whatever are the "opinions", "the feelings" and "the points of view" that can express a high-level representative of a national bourgeoisie at given moment, the decisions which it is brought to take are at first and above all determined by the global interests of this national bourgeoisie.

Its been a three weeks since clearing officially began for the NAFTA Superhighway, I-69. Trees have been felled in the first two miles (out of 142) of the route, and three out of the four homes (out of 400) which had already been seized by the Department of Transportation were demolished this week. Security is posted around the clearing sites, reflecting the state's fear of the wrath of local communities threatened by the road.

A Female Protester has sealed herself into a tunnel under a hill upon which the Rath Lugh National Monument is positioned to stop construction of the M3 Motorway near the Hill of Tara. 100 protesters have now joined the protest at Rath Lugh.

We are a dangerous crossroads: military planners believe their own propaganda. The military manuals state that this new generation of nuclear weapons are "safe" for use in the battlefield. They are no longer a weapon of last resort. There are no impediments or political obstacles to their use.

The region’s inhabitants oppose the planned contamination and destruction of this agricultural zone of ecological importance and fragility. Piura is one of the last virgin areas in a Peru targeted for exploitation by the world's largest mining transnationals.

This 400-year-old heritage site is facing destruction and disappearance at the hands of Canadian transnational Metallica Resources Inc.

The nuclear industry threatens us all. Today there is an urgent call for global action to break the cycle of mass destruction.

The gap between the urgent threat of global warming and the collective will to do something about it has never been greater. The recently concluded Conference on Climate Change in Bali was a grand opportunity to act. Instead, it was another missed opportunity. Unfortunately, the United States played a very negative role, standing in the way of consensus at every turn. And unfortunately, the rest of the world thought that seducing the US into a new agreement on climate action was top priority, resulting in a Bali Roadmap that was very sketchy.
