Film Screening under the stars (bring a chair or a cushion), BBQ (we supply the food-pay what you can). BYOB. The People's Commission Network (PCN) invites you to an outdoor screening of short films on issues relating to the national security agenda, such as CSIS harassment, profiling of our communities, immigration control measures, torture, the criminalization of dissent, listing, institutionalizes racism. The PCN is launching a popular education campaign in the lead up to a grassroots forum taking place on 4-6 February 2011 to counter the national security agenda. This forum will analyze the political and economic objectives behind the national security agenda in order to break the civil liberties framework through which it is often examined. The PCN seeks to explicitly question and reframe the concept of "national security" and to strengthen solidarity between the many targeted communities and their allies in Montreal. On the heels of the violent attacks against social justice organizers and those mobilized against the G20 in Toronto, it is important to come together, strengthen our solidarities, and continue to fight against all control measures and the criminalization of individuals, groups and entire communities. Down with the police state! Whose security? Our Security!
